Eastgardens is a suburb in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 9 kilometers south of the city’s central business district and under the jurisdiction of the Bayside Council. Eastgradens is home to a large shopping centre, Westfield Eastgardens, located at the corner of Wentworth Avenue and Bunnerong Road in the city. It is bordered by the suburbs of Pagewood, Maroubra, Hillsdale, and Banksmeadow and is a part of the Sydney metropolitan area.

Eastgardens has initially been a part of the suburbs of Pagewood and Hillsdale, and it is now a separate community. The Westfield Eastgardens shopping centre on Wentworth Avenue, which opened in 1987, was the inspiration for the suburb’s name. The government initially held the location, and it was used as a bus depot before being leased to General Motors Holden, which produced automobiles.

Eastgardens had a population of 860 people, according to the 2016 Census. 56.3 percent of the population was born in Australia, and 52.9 percent lived in a home where only English was spoken. The most prevalent religious responses were Catholic 38.3 percent and No Religion 18.3 percent respectively, for the survey.
