Mascot is a suburb in the Inner-South of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales. This city is bounded by Arncliffe to the north and Sutherland to the south, with most of its area taken up by industrial land. This suburb is located approximately 7 kilometres southwest of the Sydney central business district. It sits on the Cooks River adjacent to Botany Bay in an area once known as Green Hills. The small district of Mascot is located in the Inner West, which has many cultural sites and landmarks, including Botany Water Reserves (1024 Botany Road) and Sewage Pumping Station (General Homes Drive).

The suburb of Mascot is mainly commercial and residential, although there are still some older buildings in the area. It has a shopping centre that’s home to Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, ALDI Liquor Barn, and Target Country.
In Mascot, there are areas with residential houses, commercial offices and industrial buildings. Locals and tourists go to the Mascot shopping centre located on Botany Road. This shopping centre has a supermarket, cinema and many speciality shops. The area around Mascot railway station is being redeveloped in order to include a new high-density housing project. This will provide more homes for people who are moving into the city.
